A restaurant that I warmly suggest between Torre Lapillo and Porto Cesareo in Salento is without a doubt the Bacino Grande restaurant. I go there now and again, above all at the beginning of the summer before the height of the proper working season begins. Good cuisine and fantastic location. I usually choose fish but you can also order meat or vegetable based dishes, all rigorously typical gastronomical specialities.
The hall has a marvellous, and I stress marvellous, view of the sea. The restaurant is right on the beach and it overlooks the most southern part of the Bay of Torre Lapillo. Bacino Grande also offers a beach resort service with beach umbrellas and beach beds. You have just seen, in shuffled order, linguine with seafood, orecchiette Puglia style with meatballs, various grilled vegetable and fish hors d’oeuvres, grilled jumbo prawns, a Caprese with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes … I will leave you to browse the photos of the beach and the sea that you can see from the restaurant’s view.
